“Very helpful ladies on the 'phone but slightly disappointed that there was no mention of having to pay a deposit on boat collection. Also did not realise that Waterways are just the booking agent? We are actually going with Anglo Welsh. Have read the reviews which were rather mixed, but as people are normally much quicker to whinge than to praise I did'nt take too much notice of it. I hope I am right. This is our first venture on a narrow boat and I did'nt shop around once I spoke to Trudi and the other lady I spoke to first. Fingers crossed.”

Further to the information on our website home page, your holiday booking via Waterways Holidays is made directly with your boating holiday operator and in accordance with their booking terms and conditions. Regarding security deposits, a boating holiday operator may ask for a refundable deposit on arrival as per their booking terms. Such deposits generally apply to large groups and celebratory parties and are refunded when the boat is returned on time and in a clean and tidy condition. “Chose holiday on line, had message/text following day - missed call - to say boat was being held for 24 hours. Had pleasant conversation to agree dates and pay. Fast follow up email to confirm. Straightforward. Most holidays/trips one can book online so was a little surprised at the process but it was all ok and was happy with how it worked.”

“The reason I didn't choose very good was because of a problem I had when first booking.The online booking had a box requesting my email address,when I inserted the details,it failed to show the first letter of the address,& despite clicking the automatic insertion of the email address this still remained the case.I then inserted the first letter myself. This led to a double L showing at your end,which resulted in you having to contact us by telephone to gain our email address. The overall service has been excellent.”

“It was easy enough to find a boat and get some idea of what the layout would be like, but unusual to have to book by a follow up phone call afterwards. I hope that the boat is as good as it looks on the online photo. The phone call was great as it gave the chance to ask questions and get a good feel for it all.”
